Home Cookin' Thursday: Super Mac N' Cheese!

We like to keep it simple here at The New Adult Life, and it doesn't get more simple than Super Mac n' Cheese. What is Super Mac n' Cheese you ask? Well, this is Home Cookin' Thursday, which means two things. 1. I will use apostrophes more liberally 2. We're going to show you.

Ingredients:
1 Box Kraft Macoroni and Cheese ($0.85)
A few sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1/4 cup of milk (box says 2% but use skim for health or whole for taste)
8 tbsp margarine or butter (box says 4 tbsp, but Paula Dean that ish)
6 breakfast sausage links
olive oil

Optional Ingredients:

Red Wine (adds antioxidents, helps heart health, makes mushrooms taste better)
1 scoop unflavored whey protein (lowers blood preasure, builds muscle)

Directions:

Sautee some mushrooms slices. That means throw them in a frying pan with the olive oil on medium heat. Stir them suckers around until they are a good brown color, and then set them aside.
After that cut the breakfast sausage into bit size pieces with scissors or a knife. Throw those pieces in the same pan and move them around every few seconds until they are slightly charred and cooked all the way through. Put that sausage somewhere and let it cool some.

Now that all the ingredients are ready, follow the directions on the Mac n' Cheese box under "classic prep"  until step three.

Here's our awesome step 3 replacement step 3: Add margarine, milk, sauce packet, and parmesan cheese. Stir it all around until the parmesan is melted in and the sauce is smooth. You can add more milk if you need it, but cook it down. We're going for sauce not water.

Once the sauce is smooth mix in the cooked sausage and mushrooms. COOKED! Stir it around and let it get warm enough to eat. That stuff is good to go.

Good eating cheifs!
